Dosage Guide

INDICATIVE DOSAGE: 0.2ml-0.4ml Daily

5 out of 7 days a week

ADMINISTRATION PROTOCOL

  • With provided alcohol wipe, wipe down the rubber part of the vial.
  • Remove protective cover and stopper from the needle.
  • Draw the same amount of air into the syringe as required dosage amount.
  • Place needle into rubber part of bottle and push the plunger down to inject all the air. SEE IMAGE 1
  • Turn the bottle and syringe upside-down. Be sure the needle is fully immersed before drawing back.
  • Pull back on the plunger to required dosage (measure from the top of the plunger) SEE IMAGE 2
  • Check syringe for air bubbles, tap the syringe so the air bubbles rise to the top and push up on the plunger to remove the air bubbles.
  • Recheck the dose and add more to the syringe if necessary.
  • Choose a site for injection and wipe clean with alcohol wipe.
  • With your other hand, gently pinch a small fold of skin on either side of the cleaned injection site.
  • Insert the needle fully into the pinched skin at a 90-degree angle (straight up and down) and slowly push on the plunger with your thumb until the bottom of the syringe is reached. SEE IMAGE 3
  • Be sure to vary the exact injection side each time.

DOSAGE TIMING

Only inject when blood sugar levels are low (ideally no food an hour before or after injection).

INJECTION AREAS

  • Abdomen – to the lower left or right side of your navel.
  • Lower Back – below the waist but just above where the buttocks meet the lower back.

DISPOSAL OF NEEDLES

  • Do not cap the needle. Drop the entire syringe and needle into your container for used “sharps” equipment.
  • Do NOT put this container in the recycling bin. Check with your local health department for specific disposal instructions in your community.
